Motivated and socially committed – trainees at Hoffmann + Krippner
After far more company-focused projects, such as organizing a BBQ for the staff or the construction of a display case at the ÜAB, a concept with social significance was established for the first time this year.
Under the motto “socially and locally committed”, all eight trainees provided support to the town Buchen working on two different projects: one group was to repaint a Recreation Center in Bödigheim Am Eckbuckel while the second group focused on the care of the culturally and historically significant Jewish cemetery located close to the Recreation Center.
In white painter suits, armed with brushes and buckets of paint, the trainees put their painting skills to the test starting with the toolshed at the Recreation Center. The outdoor wooden sets were also given a fresh coat of paint. The complex features four cabins for overnight stays as well as a large recreation hall and a fully furnished kitchen building – an ideal destination for trips organized by schools or clubs. At the Jewish cemetery – in compliance with Jewish traditions in which the graves are to be left alone to a certain extent – the grass, weeds and bushes were trimmed and cleaned up.
When visited on site by HR Manager Roland Hollerbach as well as city officials Bernd Egenberger and Hubert Kieser, the trainees mentioned: “Not only are we proactive being part of this project, but at the end of day you also realize what you have accomplished as a group!” According to the HR Manager, the positive mood and atmosphere between all eight trainees provided affirmation for social and local based projects to become an integral part of future training plans. Hubert Kieser of the City Municipality thanked everyone involved for their active assistance and appeared willing to continue future cooperation.
